Website

The public website is designed to work without creating a user account. Standard server logs may record technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested page and time for security and operation.

Anonymous visit statistics

This website keeps its own visit statistics without cookies and without storing anything in your browser. It records pages visited, clicks on store buttons, video plays, reading time, device and browser type, the source of the visit and your IP address shortened by its last part. A visit is distinguished by a fingerprint that changes every day and cannot be used to recognise you on a later visit or on another website. We process this data ourselves, do not pass it to advertising networks and keep it for at most 14 months. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing how the website is used.

Website measurement and Google Ads

To understand whether our advertising leads to website visits and clicks to the App Store or Google Play, this website uses the Google tag for Google Ads with Consent Mode. Advertising and analytics storage is denied by default until you choose to allow it. If you do not consent, Google may receive limited cookieless consent and measurement signals, but advertising and analytics cookies are not stored. If you consent, Google may use advertising and analytics storage for measurement according to your choice. You can change your choice at any time using Privacy settings in the footer.

App data

Depending on the platform and permissions you choose, the app may use health or fitness data such as workouts, steps, distance, pace, cadence and heart rate, plus location for route, distance and pace features. Access is requested through the operating system and can be changed in device settings.

Location and maps

The app uses location only with your permission, to record the route, distance and pace of your workout. Routes and workouts are stored on your device; we do not receive them on our servers. Some optional features need an online service that receives location data. On Android, online map tiles are optional and can be turned off in the app. When they are on, the app downloads map tiles from OpenStreetMap for the area around your route, so the tile provider can see your IP address and the displayed area, from which your precise location can be inferred (the provider’s privacy policy: https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy). On iPhone and iPad, the route map is provided by Apple Maps and the current weather by Apple Weather; for this purpose the map area and your location are sent to Apple under its privacy policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/). The transfer is encrypted. You can withdraw the location permission at any time in your device settings.

Health and fitness data

Japanese Walking Pro may, only with the user’s explicit permission, access selected health and fitness data available through system health services on the device, such as Health Connect or Apple Health/HealthKit. This may include heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), sleep and speed. We use this data only for workout guidance, personalization, progress insights and related app features. We do not upload this data to our servers, sell it or share it with third parties; it remains on the user’s device. Access is optional, and permissions can be changed or revoked at any time in the device’s health and privacy settings.

Support messages

If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to send, including your email address and message content, so we can respond to your request.

Purchases

Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment-card details are not handled by this website.
